OK...the beginning of my weirdness

For those of you who don't read all the other blogs (if there are any of you) a thing has been passed around having people list 7 weird things about themselves. I thought this would be easy since I think of myself as a little quirky about things. As I have been thinking about it we have come to the conclusion that I am not that weird. I thought Adam would have no problem coming up with a long list of weird things about me and even he had a hard time. Speaking of...I would like to take a vote. The one thing Adam did come up with for me, which I am not even going to put in the list because it is so not weird, is this: When drinking iced tea, I put lemon in and stir it with a spoon. I then leave the spoon in the tea while I drink instead of taking it out. While I drink I hold back the spoon with my finger so it doesn't hit me in the face. Is this weird?? OK, I will start my list but I will have to add to it and if any of you think of something feel free to add it.

1. Since about the age of three I have cut all of the tags out of my shirts. If left in, I cannot even function throughout the day- it will literally drive me crazy until I rip it out. This made my mother crazy because I would often cut holes in new shirts trying to get the tag out. I usually have to get a seam ripper and get the whole tag out- I can't just cut off the part that sticks out. That new tagless shirt thing that all the stores are doing now- I thought of that when I was about 10.

2. Often when I take a drink of water I swish it around in my mouth before swallowing. I don't know why- I guess I think it cleans out my mouth?

3. I am really anal about germs but only in certain ways. I am not that bothered by sick germs and I don't sanitize my house. Hmmm....kind of hard to explain. Example: If I am at a campground or something and have to use a public bathroom to brush teeth, etc. I don't like my stuff to touch the counter top. I will put my tube of toothpaste on top of the ziploc bag I brought it in and I even think it is gross to put the bag down- especially if the counter is at all wet. Likewise, I will never let my feet touch any floor in any kind of place like that- always flip flops- even when I step put of the shower it is right onto my shoes.

4. I have a good memory for somethings but I have almost no memory for books and movies. I am reading through all the Harry Potter books again and a lot of it is still a surprise. Some of the books I have read 3 times. As I read, some parts come back to me as I go along but for the most part it is all new. I can't ever talk about movies with people unless I just saw it. Often times I don't even remember if I saw the movie or not. Like last night, I started watching Tears of the Sun and it started to look familiar. I think I must have watched it a couple of years ago but I didn't remember any of it. And it was good- the second time.

5. To steal one from Jen B- I leave little bites of the ends of my food. I most often do this with fries and sandwiches. I don't know why- although with fries sometimes I do it cause the black ends kind of freak me out. Along with that, I pick apart my food sometimes and it has to be perfect for me to eat. I mostly do this with chicken. Any funny looking, or slimy parts and I will not eat it.

That is all I can come up with for now. I promise I am thinking hard about 6 and 7. It has taken me awhile just to come up with these 5.

The ice tea is not weird at all. I have on occasion done the same. Some have told me that it is weird I drink ice tea year round! =)

The iced tea is quite weird... I have one other for you. You're husband cooks you fish and you go to Wendy's... That's just insane...

Ok #2 sort of grosses me out, because the water is collecting all the food particles in your mouth and then going down (think backwash) LOL

the iced tea thing isn't really weird however what is the purpose of the spoon staying in? just curious? :)

and what have you guys been telling Dan?? hee hee

hahaaaaa...
the iced tea thing made me laugh!
But I TOTALLY relate to the germ thing AND am the same way with movies and books; very annoying to Mark when I'm like "I've never seen this" when we've seen it several times together or something!
I'm wracking my brain right now b/c I have a weird one for you on the tip of my brain but can't quite access it.... it's related to food... what is it, what is it? AUGH! I know there are some things you've done here with food that I've thought are odd/endearing but of course I can't think of them right now!

(okay i think some are coming to me:)
Salt.
Do you put salt on odd things or a lot of things?
Sandwiches. You make them very carefully, slowly, with great precision and care. heeheeee...now everyone's going to be watching you the next time you're making a sandwich and they're there!
Ice cubes. You love them and use them in most of your drinks.
It's like you enjoy the finer things in live, taking time to savor. each. flavorrrrrr....
I love you!!!!

ok...Dan, not sure what you are talking about. Are you referring to the dinner that Adam decided to experiment with flounder and I refused? If so, that is not weird but smart because I was the only one who had a full belly that night- everyone else hated the fish- even Adam! And the iced tea thing isn't weird, you are just siding with Adam cause you want to:) And Jen you are right- I put salt on my salad- or I should say lettuce as I do not eat much else in the salad:) That is very weird. And now that you say it I do make a careful sandwich:) That is weird. The ice thing isn't weird though- it makes your drink cold! Silly. Wendy, I don't know why I keep the spoon in. I guess because it is already there and also I like lemons so I sometimes use the spoon to take the lemon out at the end to eat it. I wouldn't want to put the spoon on the table because of my weirdness indicated in #3:) Thanks for the input everyone!

ok just have to add that the way I read Dan's was 1) your husband cooks you fish 2) you go to Wendy's (thinking he meant the restaurant) but joking that it was my house, but in re-reading it, I see that it was all one statement, so what I said didn't really make sense! not that is was that funny to begin with hee hee :)

Jen - I LOVE the sandwich comment! I never would have thought of it - but I've seen her make sandwiches and that's SO true!!! It is a very precise process! K your "wierdnesses" are very "endearing" to steal from Jen - love that description of you too - dead on:)

Ok...this isn't weird, but you somehow manage to birth and rear huge babies and remain a twig. That would, I think, fall under the "lucky" or "good genes" list.
